Why House Cats Turn?

This is Sally, she is usually a fun playful cat and is just about the most talkative being in the house. But there are times, when she is just not in the mood and she turns her crazy switch on. And for those who do not want to explain the next day at work, why there are scars all over your hands and arms.. you just let her have her space.

It is funny how animals often mimic their owners personalities. As with anyone else, sometimes the mood overtake your usual cherub like demeanors and sometimes, you just feel in the pits. So give your animals the same respect you would give a roommate or loved one and allow to take a break from your attention every once and a while.

Do you have a zoo in your house?

Are you like me and you feel that your house is being overtaken by a zoo of animals? I do, I love animals so much that I am like a kid in a candy store when I visit a pet store. I have had animals of every sort and just can't seem to stick to limiting how many I have.

So if you are out there and you are doing the same thing by living with half of animal planet. Don't feel alone, we should probably start a support group over something. All kinds of pets need our love and we are willing to give it.

Keep your pets free... of parasites

We all love in our pets and want to keep them and ourselves safe. So now that the spring is finally coming and that means the bugs are coming in full swing as well. If we stay proactive and take care of it, there is nothing to worry about.

I have been reading up on this subject and have found that most vermin can be kept at bay by things as simple as flea collars and pet shampoos that repel bugs. I know I have this problem that I don't think about these measures until the season is half way through so I am going to get a head of the insects this year and take care of my pet now.

Poor animal frozen in his tracks

Have you ever wondered if your house pet could freeze if left out overnight. Well, if it drops to (-28) like it did in Silt Colorado, this is quite possible. This is a picture found of a coyote that died while trying to make itself a shelter.

So be careful, when leaving your animals out for the night. Give them something to allow them to insulate heat. You don't want this to happen to your pet and no animal deserves to die like this.

Kids are such hams these days...

Now, I know that the craze of having pigs as house pets has died down again but I am really a fan of having a little piece of bacon running around the house. I joke, I really don't view our house pig as a tasty piece of meat, mainly because he will never go big enough for me to enjoy tasty meat. Really, He is a part of the family as much as any pet.

Domesticated pigs really do make good family animals and also help you with any trash problems because their stomachs can handle almost anything and they actually can be house trained.

Dog facts for your pleasure

As man's best friend, Dogs have a special place in our hearts. For many people, they are a member of the family and are treated as such. It is estimated 1 million dogs in the United States have been named as the primary beneficiary of their owner's will. There is a funny fact that Americans spend more money of dog food each year then they do on baby food.

I love my dog as much as the next guy but I wonder if our priorities are a little askew. I am with the other 18% of dog owners that allow my pets to sleep in my bed with me but I am not part of the 33% of dog owners that admit that they talk to their dogs on the phone or leave them a message while they are away. I have my limitations. It is nice to see that people can get so attached to their pets and it means that there is hope for the future.

The new roommate in our Condo.

So I got one of the phones... the ones you dread. Don't worry, no one died and I am still employed. The phone call I am referring to right now is when my roommate said that she had stop by "No more homeless pets" and got a new addition to the house. I love animals and I love this one... but this cat is definitely a unique and apparent presence in our house.

Her name is "Sally" and her favorite thing to do in our house, and sometime the only way to shut her up, is to drink from the bathtub so much that it makes her burp. This is not because we don't keep her food and water stocked, I have checked but this is her thing.

Besides that, she is a great cat... now I am hearing though, because she cries a lot, my roommate feels like we need to get her a friend and playmate so that she is not alone all day. Here we go again.
